Day 5-Fin d'un grand voyage

Day 5: End of a great Journey.

Wait! It's over already?

We leave Tomorrow morning. Bright and early at 5:45. So today we're headed to Disney!!

My time spent in Paris would not have been complete without the man himself! That's right Mr. Mickey Mouse.

Today I enjoyed being 5 years old all over again. I even watched the Disney Parade.

The picture above can pretty much sum up my entire trip.

Takeaways from my experiences abroad:

Laugh at yourself
Submerge yourself into the culture
Make memories that will last you a lifetime
Concern yourself with where you are
Talk to people- like everybody you meet. There is beauty in strangers surprisingly.
Make at least 5 new friends.
Prepare your mind
Take loads of Pictures
Worry less-life is way to serious
Gain Wisdom
Ask a person anything you want- The worst that can happen is they tell you No.

I'll forever be grateful for this Trip!

Day 4- Eiffel Tower

Day 4

Today was the day that we finally got our tour of the Eiffel Tower!

first we started the day off by going on a tour of the OECD.

Fun Fact: The OECD provides a common ground for member countries to come and discuss policies and deliberate about worldly affairs. It was nice that they allowed us the opportunity to visit.

The second half of the day was the River Cruise and the Eiffel Tower!

The river cruise was nice we saw the second statue of liberty.

History Lesson: The Statue of Liberty was a gift to America from France. France had the Eiffel tower that symbolized peace and justice so they wanted us to have the same for our country. Which led to them giving us lady Liberty.

The Eiffel tower was amazing. I walked  all the way up the two levels of greatness. It was 669 steps to be exact. I wanted to quit after the first level, but i'm glad I didn't. It was all worth it.

Paris, Paris, Paris- Day 3

Today was the Paris Music festival!

We began the day with a site visit with Dr.V. We went to the counterfeit museum. It was very interesting because Paris is the mecca of a lot of major name brand labels. I wasn't surprised that they're were so many fakes on certain items, but I was surprised of how many labels were being copied.

The most interesting one to me was the medicine. More specifically Viagra, they had a counterfit version of that pill. Why on earth would somebody counterfeit medicine. A person could die behind taking counterfeit medication.

After our tour we explored the city and took part in some of the music festival that was being held around us. People were everywhere, dancing and drinking in the street. It was a site to see.

Counterfeit Museum

Day 2- Paris

Day Two:

We began the day going to a less touristy side of Paris. Dr. V introduced Mariama and I to falafel's.

side note: The best place to get falafels in Paris is Le Marais area. Falafels are amazing!! I will go back to Paris just for the falafel's, but not during the summer.

Anywho, we ate our falafels at a nice park (Place des Vosges) to be exact. However, the birds were not too happy that we came and didn't bring them anything. They would not leave us alone.

After our delicious treats, Mariama and I finished up the day doing some research in the field. But not before I snagged me an awesome Pandora charm.

The place that were were had alot of shops and that's were we conducted all of our interviews.

It was a job well done. Go team!

Day 1 in Paris

Day 1 in Paris!

Before I begin let me just say that the humidity in Paris was more like an inferno on steroids!

Today we began the day with a walking tour around Paris. We visited the Lock of Love bridge and the Louvre. Although we didn't go inside the Louvre if the outside is any indication of the inside it is miles of awesomeness.

After the tour a few of the girls and I went to find a cool place to find shelter and eat. That was not what we found.

Side note: Paris is only hot for one month out of the year so no one really has air conditioning.

Aside from our heat deprivation we enjoyed a traditional Parisian 3 course meal.

Sorry no pictures we were all too hungry.

Check me out on the Lock of Love Bridge.

Day 5 in London!

Today we went to the Tower of London and got a tour of the whole premises. London's Royal Castle and infamous prison is a site to see. This concludes our time in London and it was such a beautiful city.

Also Praying for the city of London in light of recent tragedies

-Mar

Day 4 in London

Today we went to the Bank Of England to learn about the way money works and how this is the Central bank of Europe and financial control system for the government's money. Then we went on a river cruise to seem a wide view of all of london and Greater london.

Day 5: London

Day 5:

Today we went to visit the Tower of London. We had a tour guide explaining the history surrounding the Tower and the why it was influential on English society during the day.

The tour guides were dressed up from that time period, and they didn't really like to take pictures but we made them. I enjoyed myself.

Humblest Regards: During our final walk in trying to finish our interviews we saw the apartment building that burned down two days prior. There were missing ads everywhere of people asking for help in finding their loved ones. One that touched me deeply was a little girl that was missing. The ad asked that if you found her please call her family. The little girl could have been no older than 4. She was just one of many that were missing. I Pray that they find her and all the others that went missing that day, I pray they find them alive and well. Along our walk I also saw the community working together to remember the lives that were lost. My thoughts and prayers is going to continuously be with all the loved ones and the community of London.

Gratitude: All the nice people that I have met since being in London.

Day 4: London Bridges

Day 4

Today we went to the Bank of England, we learned how the banking system works and the role that it plays in England as a whole. I touched a real gold bar of money and we walked to our boat tour which was a country mile away. The boat tour was fun and a great way to relax. We saw the actual London Bridge and almost got attacked by birds on the boat. However, it was all worth it.

Gratitude:The birds that didn't bite me on the ship.

KeAira

Day III- London England

Day 3:

Today was a more relaxed day for the Duo, our class along with Econ went to the London Eye. Before coming on the trip I had never heard of the London Eye, but it was a really cool view.

This was our view from the top of the Eye.

Afterwards, we went to watch a 3D film about the eye and what its about. It is a really cool film

It was a short day for me because I had homework to catch up and an early rising.

xoxoxo,

KeAira,

Day Two: Is London ready?

Day two: KeAira takes on London

Before coming to this Amazing city I really didnt have a plan on how to best tackle the city, but it didnt take us long to learn the in and outs of the City.

We went to the museum of brands on Day Two. Before going I hadn't realized how long different products had been around and the different ways that companies use marketing tactics to market their products. It was amazing to see the evolution of products and how Brands really have been around as long as the world has been in existence.

After the visit to the Museum we landed an interview from a local clothing boutique. Along with the great interview we got a good recommendation on places to visit during our stay in London. We also took ourselves to Howth park were we laid out on the grass. Later in the night we walked on one of the London bridges that light up during the night.

Fun Fact: London Bridge is not the prettiest bridge in London. It is also just one of many.

Gratitude: Free spirited people that allow me to ask them questions.

xoxo,

KeAira

Day 3 in London!

Today we went on the London eye and saw some of the best views of London! After that we had an amazing interview with a business owner near baker street; she owned a custom made garment shop for Indian and asian traditions.

Day Two London

Today we went to the Museum of Brands to see the evolution of brands throughout the 1900s & 2000s, Then we went to Portobella Rd were there were so many boutiques, shops and restaurants to explore. Today set my Entrepreneurial Spirit &  carefree soul on fire! I'm so grateful for this opportunity! We also spent the rest of the day in Hyde Park, eating ice cream and exploring this part of time!

Day One London

We started the day with a walking tour of Greater London and saw sights such as Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. We also had a guest speaker to come speak to us about the recent election in Great Britian wants to decide to leave the European Union. #Brexit The European union is comprised of 28 countries that allow the free movement of people, capital and goods & service.

Day 1: London already!!!

Day 1:

Where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday we were boarding the plane and now were on our 2nd leg. Nevertheless, I'm still loving Europe and enjoying my time here. Today we had a walking tour in London, and we got a crash course 101 in European history. We visited Buckingham Palace (where the Queen resides) as well as visited Big Ben. Unfortunately, The Queen was not at home. She forgot that we had an appointment today, ill have my people contact her people and reschedule. However, her house was still gorgeous.
I found the tour to be great and insightful. London is rich in culture and tradition. It was great to see the differences and the similarities between America and Europe.

Fun Fact- Big Ben is'nt really called Big Ben.

Grateful: I'm grateful to Nike. My feet hurt everyday and i'm thankful that my shoes don't look how my feet feel. My shoes don't look like what I have been putting them through day after day. My shoes- they truly support me in all my endeavors, they have proven their loyalty to me time and time again. The both of them (left and right) have truly been loyal to me on my rise to success. Some people take them for granted, but i'm thankful for them, without them I would be really in a terrible predicament.

xoxox,

KeAira

Day 5: Dublin

Day 5:

Today we went to Howth Cliff. Keyword in that sentence was Cliff. I have never been scared of heights but today was a different story. The Cliff walk and Island was beyond beautiful. On my way to the top of the walk I passed a couple coming down that told me that the struggle to the top would be worth it, and boy were they right. The view from this Cliff was amazing. The scariest part of the journey was the narrow paths, and the thought that "in one wrong move my life could all be over." After you get pass the initial fear the beauty of the water mountains and rocks just captures you. I was so happy that i got to experience this place and all it's beauty. There was even a place at the end where you could go swim, stick your feet in or collect rocks. Again nothing short of amazing.

Gratitude: I'm grateful for the ability to dream and  push myself beyond what I feel or think. I'm also thankful for people along the way to push me, which allows me to expand my horizons in a direction that will one day inspire others.

Sincerely,

Still loving Europe!!

KeAira

Day 4 in Dublin!!!!

Day 4:

Impact of the day:

Today we was a very expectant day for the tag-team duo in Ireland. Today is the day that we saw our follow through and hard work of being persistent pay off. We got a tour of Google. The headquarters of the UK. We had an exclusive tour by an employee named Giuromano he is an account manager for Google, and his willingness to show us all the cool parts of Google and its many features was a heaven send.I think it's safe to say that Mariama and I both left Google feeling innovated and inspired. Not to mention the cool and exclusive pieces that we bought in the gift shop while we were there.

Fact- Only 1% of people that apply for a job with Google get it.

Gratitude: I am very grateful for Giuromano's willingness to allow us to tour google. Today was nothing short of Amazing!!

I Love Europe:)

Day 5 in Dublin

Today we went to Howth Island in Dublin and it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. This was so relaxing and fun, the perfect way to spend our last day in Dublin!
