Day 5 in London!

Today we went to the Tower of London and got a tour of the whole premises. London's Royal Castle and infamous prison is a site to see. This concludes our time in London and it was such a beautiful city.

Also Praying for the city of London in light of recent tragedies

Day 4 in London

Day 5: London

Day 5:

Today we went to visit the Tower of London. We had a tour guide explaining the history surrounding the Tower and the why it was influential on English society during the day.

Displaying IMG_4483.JPG

The tour guides were dressed up from that time period, and they didn't really like to take pictures but we made them. I enjoyed myself.

Humblest Regards: During our final walk in trying to finish our interviews we saw the apartment building that burned down two days prior. There were missing ads everywhere of people asking for help in finding their loved ones. One that touched me deeply was a little girl that was missing. The ad asked that if you found her please call her family. The little girl could have been no older than 4. She was just one of many that were missing. I Pray that they find her and all the others that went missing that day, I pray they find them alive and well. Along our walk I also saw the community working together to remember the lives that were lost. My thoughts and prayers is going to continuously be with all the loved ones and the community of London.

Gratitude: All the nice people that I have met since being in London.

Day 4: London Bridges

Day 4

Today we went to the Bank of England, we learned how the banking system works and the role that it plays in England as a whole. I touched a real gold bar of money and we walked to our boat tour which was a country mile away. The boat tour was fun and a great way to relax. We saw the actual London Bridge and almost got attacked by birds on the boat. However, it was all worth it.

Gratitude:The birds that didn't bite me on the ship.

Day III- London England

Day 3:

Today was a more relaxed day for the Duo, our class along with Econ went to the London Eye. Before coming on the trip I had never heard of the London Eye, but it was a really cool view.

Displaying IMG_4417.JPG This was our view from the top of the Eye.

Afterwards, we went to watch a 3D film about the eye and what its about. It is a really cool film

It was a short day for me because I had homework to catch up and an early rising.

Day Two: Is London ready?

Day two: KeAira takes on London

Before coming to this Amazing city I really didnt have a plan on how to best tackle the city, but it didnt take us long to learn the in and outs of the City.

We went to the museum of brands on Day Two. Before going I hadn't realized how long different products had been around and the different ways that companies use marketing tactics to market their products. It was amazing to see the evolution of products and how Brands really have been around as long as the world has been in existence.

After the visit to the Museum we landed an interview from a local clothing boutique. Along with the great interview we got a good recommendation on places to visit during our stay in London. We also took ourselves to Howth park were we laid out on the grass. Later in the night we walked on one of the London bridges that light up during the night.

Displaying IMG_4368.JPG

Fun Fact: London Bridge is not the prettiest bridge in London. It is also just one of many.

Gratitude: Free spirited people that allow me to ask them questions.

Day 1: London already!!!

Day 1:

Where does the time go? It seems like just yesterday we were boarding the plane and now were on our 2nd leg. Nevertheless, I'm still loving Europe and enjoying my time here. Today we had a walking tour in London, and we got a crash course 101 in European history. We visited Buckingham Palace (where the Queen resides) as well as visited Big Ben. Unfortunately, The Queen was not at home. She forgot that we had an appointment today, ill have my people contact her people and reschedule. However, her house was still gorgeous.
I found the tour to be great and insightful. London is rich in culture and tradition. It was great to see the differences and the similarities between America and Europe.

Fun Fact- Big Ben is'nt really called Big Ben.

Grateful: I'm grateful to Nike. My feet hurt everyday and i'm thankful that my shoes don't look how my feet feel. My shoes don't look like what I have been putting them through day after day. My shoes- they truly support me in all my endeavors, they have proven their loyalty to me time and time again. The both of them (left and right) have truly been loyal to me on my rise to success. Some people take them for granted, but i'm thankful for them, without them I would be really in a terrible predicament.

Day 5: Dublin

Day 5:

Today we went to Howth Cliff. Keyword in that sentence was Cliff. I have never been scared of heights but today was a different story. The Cliff walk and Island was beyond beautiful. On my way to the top of the walk I passed a couple coming down that told me that the struggle to the top would be worth it, and boy were they right. The view from this Cliff was amazing. The scariest part of the journey was the narrow paths, and the thought that "in one wrong move my life could all be over." After you get pass the initial fear the beauty of the water mountains and rocks just captures you. I was so happy that i got to experience this place and all it's beauty. There was even a place at the end where you could go swim, stick your feet in or collect rocks. Again nothing short of amazing.

Gratitude: I'm grateful for the ability to dream and  push myself beyond what I feel or think. I'm also thankful for people along the way to push me, which allows me to expand my horizons in a direction that will one day inspire others.

Still loving Europe!!

Day 4 in Dublin!!!!

Day 4:

Impact of the day:

Today we was a very expectant day for the tag-team duo in Ireland. Today is the day that we saw our follow through and hard work of being persistent pay off. We got a tour of Google. The headquarters of the UK. We had an exclusive tour by an employee named Giuromano he is an account manager for Google, and his willingness to show us all the cool parts of Google and its many features was a heaven send.I think it's safe to say that Mariama and I both left Google feeling innovated and inspired. Not to mention the cool and exclusive pieces that we bought in the gift shop while we were there.

Displaying IMG_4102.JPG

Fact- Only 1% of people that apply for a job with Google get it.

Gratitude: I am very grateful for Giuromano's willingness to allow us to tour google. Today was nothing short of Amazing!!

I Love Europe:)

Day 5 in Dublin

Today we went to Howth Island in Dublin and it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. This was so relaxing and fun, the perfect way to spend our last day in Dublin!

Day 4 in Dublin!

Today was fun!

It started with a guest speaker from a marketing research company and what he does is consult companies like Coca Cola and Proctor & Gamble on what type of market they are looking at in different countries. This got me thinking a lot about my own company and how I could use this data to help companies know how to market in new countries.

Then to top it all off, we got a tour of Google! (perks of being a social butterfly)
The tour was so fast and limited but this gave me more ideas about how I would like my work environment to be for my future employees; comfortable work spaces, free food, less restricted and fun!

And today I had some gross food, so lets just not talk about It.

Day 3 in Dublin

Today we had interview with a local student at a bakery, she will actually be studying abroad in the states next week but she told us she loves where she works in Dublin and also how they have been so successful!

We also visited Facebook Europe Headquarters and Google!
& Ate at The historical Temple Bar
The day was short but excited for tomorrow !

Day 3 in Dublin

Day 3:

Today is day 3 of going European. We gained an interview with a local baker and met some very cool people along the way.

Displaying image1.JPG

We went to both the Facebook and Google headquarters. Both places were amazing!

Displaying image3.JPG      Displaying image4.JPG

Gratitude: Grateful for the people that we have randomly met in Dublin. We had dinner at a traditional Irish Bar with live Irish Music and met a native Dublin woman and her husband that were visiting her home (Dublin) from Ohio. They are on Retirement vacation for four months and were very happy to now be living out their dreams. The wife explained to us that while living as an immigrant in America she was able to accomplish so much, and that we should never give up on our dreams because we are from the land of opportunity, I'm thankful for the wise words that she and her husband shared with us over dinner. By the way, my food was amazing!

Lastly, I have found the secret formula to the perfect weight loss. Just go to Europe-by way of Dr. V's class. You will be sure to loose any and all unwanted/wanted fat, no matter what you eat.

Dublin, Day-2

Day Two was a lot better than Day One. Day Two was our official first Day in the City. We started out the day by going to a brief orientation with by Dr.V. He explained the programs direction and the rules and regulations. He also explained how best to manage our time here in Dublin, then he set us on our way.

Mariama and I decided that it was best if we formulated a plan on how to best tackle the assignment and the day. Once we had a plan we embarked on the city.

We walked a total of 7.8 miles today....Boy were we tired! But I still managed to snagged a really dope pic.

Take Aways- We landed one interview, one No, and another "come back later."
I will be very slim by the time I return home.
Some people are willing to help, more are than not.
The Westin Hotel lets the public use their restroom-I'm thankful.

Graditude-The woman that we interviewed had an awesome personality. She was very transparent and a person that I could definitely relate to. I'm glad we came across her boutique.

Next Steps- Go to Irishtown. Gather the info needed for the report, Snag some other epic interviews and possibly do some shopping in the city. I want a "Dublin" Sweat-shirt.

Day Two! #MariamaTakesOnDublin

Day Two:

Day Two began with a hearty breakfast after getting up from a well rested night. Right after breakfast we hit the city and our first stop was an area called phoenix park. We visited the Guinness Factory and did research comparing prices of everyday items such as milk and bread.

We then headed over to Moo Market which was a locally owned card and gift shop. I did an extensive interview with the woman behind this cute little gift shop and she was Amazing! She delivered nothing but the truth about entrepreneurship and how she has been so successful.

After that we headed to one of the most popular places in Dublin; Temple Bar! The area is full of Pubs, Shops and good places to eat. We decided upon Elephant & Castle and this roasted garlic burger was good & spicy just how I like it!

Tomorrow is a free day for me besides my research, what should I do?

First Day In Dublin!

First of all let me say that Jet Lag is real! I'm almost in tears writing this because I'm so sleepy but this first day in Dublin has been nothing short of interesting.

Once we got off the plane, we got on a bus and headed to Dublin City University! DCU is a large and beautiful campus. after a failed attempt to find food, we headed downtown for our walking tour of Dublin.

It began to rain during the tour and with the weather at 51 degrees, toms were not the best option. The tour was very informational and gave me a good idea of my surroundings and places I should go to do research. And I also met people from all over such as Brazil, Asia and Germany.

After our tour we headed over to Madigan's for some famous fish & chips! yum! Just now returning to campus and I can fall asleep right now, excited to see what tomorrow holds but for now Goodnight!
