Amsterdam Walking Tour

This morning we woke up around 8 and had breakfast at the hostel. This hostel I buffet style like the one from last week but they have a lot more breakfast options. I was very pleased with breakfast this time, which makes me even more excited about being in Amsterdam. After breakfast, we did a free walking tour which was about 3 hours. That sounds one but we had a great tour guide, Kor, who made the tour fun and the time flew by. He was very knowledgeable about not only the history of Amsterdam but the history in other cities and their respective countries as well. During the tour, I learned a lot about the history of Amsterdam. Did you know Amsterdam is only about 800 years old? Also, that for a long time they did not have numbers on their houses or last names? Instead they had house signs, which is a picture that depicts your occupation and it was how they distinguished who was who before they got last names.

After the tour, we went to the mall just to look around and get lunch. Their mall is much smaller than the ones we visited in Berlin. After the mall visit, we decided to head back to the hostel and relax until dinner. For dinner the hostel served pasta, it was really good and it reminded me of spaghetti. After dinner, me and Sky went to a comedy show. The comedians were pretty funny and it was nice to see Amsterdam all lit up during the night.
